Flipped Learning: The Trend for the Next Corporate Training

StrategyDriven Talent Management Article |Corporate Training|Flipped Learning: The Trend for the Next Corporate TrainingThe dynamics of the corporate world are rapidly evolving with growing industries and businesses. More and more people are relying on technology and advanced solutions to carry out their jobs. And all this is set in motion to maximize productivity and work efficiency on all fronts.

Flipped learning is the part of these trendsetting practices, the new way for professionals to adapt to their work. We all know how vital training and learning is to achieve the same service level throughout the company. People rely on it to get their workforce up to speed and upgrade their skill sets to add things to their platter. Without them, the staff would be clueless sitting ducks, even when they have work on their hands.

Besides, everyone has seen how the outbreak of COVID-19 has hit this world and influenced lives. With schools and offices closed, hospitals cramped, and people fighting the battle of their lives, the only option was to work from home. Businesses had to overcome several environmental and technological challenges to adopt this idea. But luckily for the users of flipped learning, this change was convenient because most of their learning resources were already online.

The experiences of a Flipped Classroom are close to those of live interaction. People learning from it can go through the instructor’s notes, find examples, ask questions, get ideas, and much more. These things let you better understand and grip over your work and function better as a team. Perhaps that’s also why companies feel inclined and interested in flipped learning more than the conventional methods.

If you haven’t been introduced to it yet, here are some features to get you excited. These should allow you to grasp the complete concept behind flipped learning and might even motivate you to try it yourself.

1. Video Tutorials & Lessons

Starting from the basics, instructors can use video tutorials and lessons to cover concepts and subjects. They can go for live streaming sessions with their audience or record their notes in advance for their batch to review as they continue working. That allows both parties to function independently without causing any delays.

Besides, having a video lesson is more helpful, as it offers more details about how to perform a task. There’s minimal risk of making an error, and people execute their jobs more confidently. So companies are achieving more than just top-notch teamwork and cohesion when they bring flipped learning on board.

2. In-Video Picture Notes

A problem with learning from anyone online or face-to-face is that you have to take notes unless you have a photographic memory. Switching between paying attention to the speaker’s words and writing things down, people fail to extract a lesson’s essence. They are unable to multitask at this pace, and therefore, leave with an inadequate understanding.

With flipped learning, that is no longer a problem for individuals. They can listen to the instructors attentively and find all their notes attached to the relevant areas. That allows them to access these resources once they have understood the concepts and principles of a job. And what’s even better is that if they have a portable device with an internet connection, they can access these from anywhere.

3. Search Inside Video

A problem that most people complain about with video lectures is that they struggle with finding the relevant content within a video. An hour-long lesson covers multiple concepts and various examples but has no way to navigate the video efficiently. If they want to find something specific, they will have to skip it manually until they stumble upon the right section.

For the users of a flipped classroom, that is not a problem at all. Its ‘search inside video’ option allows its users to jump to particular sections they need to review. They can find the content relevant to their work at an instant and use it to their requirement. That’s what makes it a far efficient method.

4. Cross-Platform Access & Usage

Another one of the perks of a flipped classroom is that its users can access it from any internet-connected device. It’s compatible with various platforms and browsers, making it easier to switch, access, create and edit content as per the user’s convenience. Instructors can communicate with their audiences more conveniently that way and work from their home, office, or anywhere else.

Similarly, the people learning from it can do the same and learn things on the go. They won’t have to worry about missing a lesson or asking questions due to an environmental hindrance. That minimizes absences and promotes convenience for both parties, making the overall practice more productive and fruitful.

5. In-Video Assessments

The next aspect that should spike your interest in flipped learning is that it offers online assessments against its teachings. Instructors can add quizzes and exercises for their audience to make the lecture interactive. It will allow them to measure their students’ skills and knowledge and gauge their teaching effectiveness.

Besides, it can also help keep the learners attentive as they will expect a review of their learnings. They will foster a competitive spirit through these lectures and would want to display their growth. It will improve the overall outcomes of these classes while keeping everyone engaged in its contents.

6. Remote Access

Lastly, the highlight of using a flipped classroom is its ease of access. Anything with a decent internet connection and the necessary details to log in to a portal can do so without experiencing any difficulty. Multiple devices and browser compatibility aside, most of the contents on any subject get hosted on its servers. They are available as resources for anyone to review, as the holdings of a library. That eliminates the need for people to carry all their notes and lectures everywhere they go. All they need is a portable device with nominal computational capabilities. Anyone who is a part of this service can enjoy this and more, making a flipped classroom all the more attractive for its users.

Summary

These were the primary features and highlights of flipped learning, a trendsetting method for corporate training in the industries—people who have already signed up on its benefit from its tools and resources. At the same time, others are in the queue to get on board. Suppose you haven’t heard of it already. In that case, you should explore your options with this service because delaying this opportunity will only cost you more in the long run.

Ways that Businesses can benefit from using Human Resource Software

StrategyDriven Talent Management Article |Human Resource Software|Ways that Businesses can benefit from using Human Resource SoftwareAll kinds of businesses can benefit from using integrated human resource software. It helps in managing processes, information, and employees. With the advancement in technology, businesses can boost the efficiency of the workforce and improve productivity. The company can automate its processes and will inevitably realize more profits in the process.

Reasons that Businesses need HR Systems

Management needs systems that make it easy to run and operate a business. Small companies can use the primary forms of human resource management systems to handle employees’ attendance and payroll. Larger corporations will utilize a more complex system inclusive of all the aspects of human resource management. This read will discuss some of the most common software to use and how they are beneficial to the venture. Here are a few reasons to use HR software;

  • Data management: the software eliminates the clumsiness of documentation in business. Officers can store data virtually and retrieve it any time that they need it. Data is easily manageable and accessible to management.
  • Automation: it leads to a reduction in errors since the system automates some of the services. Automation helps to schedule meetings with employees, and the system ensures that you get a reminder before the event.
  • Better Planning: when using HR management software, it is simpler for the management to plan to execute tasks. The system can assist in operational tasks while the management engages in strategic planning.

Types of HR Systems

Developers of software for HR management in companies will consider the needs of the business first. Let us look at popular software in the market and how they differ from each other;

HR Information Systems

The software helps enter data into the system where individuals with rights can edit the information. An employer can see the personal information, remuneration, and performance of an employee. Employees also get a portal where they can apply for leaves and also access other human resource services. They can log into the self-help menu and download payslips. On the other hand, there is a wide array of data that HR managers can store in the system. It includes keeping track of attendance and the benefits that employees are entitled to.

In other forms of the system, HR officers can store files and attach documents to an employee’s profile. It helps to link documents to the relevant individuals for efficient storage. The tool helps to manage documents and provide security against unauthorized access.

HR Management Systems

The software is not different from the information systems that we have discussed above. However, the system allows human resource managers to conduct more data analysis and use the information for decision making. Due to recent technological advancements, management tools are becoming available in all other types of human resource systems.

HR Payroll

It assists the process of paying wages and salaries to employees. Before casual and full-time employees get their payslips, the system will automatically handle any statutory obligations. It helps to generate payments and storing of payment records for the future.

Applicant Systems

The human resource department is responsible for the recruiting and onboarding of new employees. Applicant systems are meant to assist the officers in the process. Since companies receive high numbers of applications for vacancies, it is essential for management to utilize the HR tools. Unlike the management embarking on a manual process, it is easy to filter and sort out applications through the applicant systems.

Benefits of using the HR System

When a company grows, it is difficult for them to operate without professional human resource software. Depending on the business’s size and needs, one can choose the system that works for their company. However, it is advisable to have a system that makes use of all the above HR tools. Let us look at some benefits of using the HR system;

Ensures compliance with the regulations

HR software help in the storage of data and information relating to the employees. Management can ensure that the workforce complies with all labor laws by including their identification documents in the system. Having the information at a centralized location makes it easy to pay out any statutory and personal deductions. The software helps to flag items for the HR officers to act upon.

Assists in the decision-making process

In any organization, reporting becomes difficult whenever there is no organization in data and information. HR software offers cloud options for their storage needs. With enough capacity to hold all kinds of employee data, it is easy to locate the information. HR software offers an authentic representation of the workforce, and it is wise for managers to use the information to improve workers’ productivity. As a result, the process of analyzing data and making a decision becomes simpler.

It is Cost-effective

Purchasing a system for human resource management is a one-time thing. There are no monthly subscriptions unless when organizations are outsourcing storage facilities. With the software, companies can employ a few human resource officers to handle a large workforce. The use of technology in human resource management operations significantly reduces the chances of errors. With an inefficient system, companies might lose money from unwarranted payments. In the long run, human resource systems will save the business a lot of money.

Improves service to employees

Employees can easily access human resource services when the company is using automated processes. They can log into the portal from any place as long as their mobile devices have an internet connection. The system allows personnel to apply and receive approval for their leave days.

Improves efficiency in the Human Resource department

Human resources software offers an immediate impact on the department. It helps to streamline departmental operations and reduce the number of employees making their way to the office. The automated tools offer self-services that improve efficiency and productivity.

Conclusion

Employees are the most critical resource in any business. On the other hand, HR software helps recruit, manage, and remunerate talents for any organization. Small and large companies will benefit from the technology.

High-Tech or High-Touch?

StrategyDriven Talent Management Article |High-touch|High-Tech or High-Touch?Over the past decade technology has impacted the way we communicate, learn, and work. Over 5.5 billion Google searches are conducted every day and it is difficult to remember how we obtained information pre-Google. Big Data analytics are an important resource for business functions in all industries and conversational technology like chatbots and personal assistants can offer 24/7 customer support.

However, the question I want you to ask yourself is “Have we become too high-tech?” The title of this article is “High-Tech or High-Touch.” The more effective approach would be to implement a combination of both. Technology, when used properly, can improve efficiency and accuracy, but a high-touch approach is the key to building long-lasting relationships.

Salespeople often complain that no one answers their phone and will only respond to email or text. I will agree that texting is often the fastest way to obtain a response. However, technology should never replace human interaction. Often, it is the salesperson who would rather communicate by text or email, not the prospect or client. When you are screened out or voice mail messages are ignored, the person you contacted does not see any benefit in talking to you. Refrain from making WWD (what we do) presentations and instead focus your messages and conversations on how what you offer, benefits others.

People want three questions answered in any type of relationship: First – do you care about me? Second – can I trust you? Third – will you deliver what you promise? Prospects will initially view you as a vendor, but your goal should be to elevate your relationship to trusted advisor, consultant or even friend. Let your clients and prospects talk about themselves and they will like you better. Learn as much as you can about their personal lives and challenges so you can position yourself as the logical solution. It is impossible to obtain this information if you only communicate utilizing technology.

It is also amazing how effective snail mail has become. If you have an important message you want read, do not email it. Send the message in a white envelope (not a company envelope) with the return address only listing your street address – no company name. Too often, when people receive something from a company in the mail, they assume it is a sales pitch and discard it before they read or open it. Handwrite their name and address and write the words “personal and confidential” in the lower left-hand corner of the envelope. That is the only mail that is not opened by an assistant and will be read by the person you have addressed.

When you combine a High-Tech with High-Touch approach, rapport improves which then leads to trust; you will establish strong relationships and you will not be deleted with one simple click.
